PROCERTUS, a new name within UBAtc

From April 1, 2024, PROCERTUS will act as a new operator within the UBAtc. New, but not completely new either, because PROCERTUS (www.procertus.be) was created from the merger of the three separate non-profit organizations BE-CERT, PROBETON and OCAB-OCBS, each already well-known operators of UBAtc within their specific sectors.

This merger forms a larger and stronger organization, which, thanks to economies of scale and mutual interactions, is better able to develop activities that can achieve a greater impact from a broader breeding ground.

It is also much more transparent for the stakeholders, users and holders of the approvals, in the sense that the entire steel and concrete sector can now turn to a single authority with their questions concerning both raw materials and end product. Closer cooperation between employees and coordinated processes and ICT systems will certainly also offer a better service.

PROCERTUS remains strongly committed to BENOR, a brand that stands for rigorous certification in line with the needs ofthe users and, taking into account the criteria that apply according to Belgian regulations as well as the state of the art. But it doesn’t stop there: “A climate-proof, biodiversity-stimulating and ecologically sustainable built environment will increase the demand for innovative, unique and complex products. Manufacturers must be able to respond to it. The technical approvals, ATG, allow products to be individually submitted to a thorough product specific assessment. That is why these technical approvals are just as important for PROCERTUS as the BENOR certificates, which can mainly be used for larger product families. Participation in the activities of the Belgian Union for technical approval in construction, together with other academic institutions and certification bodies, therefore remains a spearhead for PROCERTUS. Even more than before, we want to always respond to the evolving needs of the sector.” said Caroline Ladang, General Manager of PROCERTUS.

In this context, UBAtc asbl can happily report that the first technical approval, with PROCERTUS as operator, was recently delivered (ATG 3259).

On the UBAtc website, PROCERTUS was added to the overview of all UBAtc operators. Previously published approval texts that still mention the certification operator BE-CERT remain fully valid. PROCERTUS will be mentioned in the next text adjustment.

UBAtc, a sector organization at the service of the sector, looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with PROCERTUS, with Caroline and her team of experts!
