Our Mission
UBAtc asbl is an association of institutions and organizations that, thanks to their expertise, can contribute to the assessment, approval and certification of construction products.
The UBAtc must aim at the following:
- To be the best European approval and assessment body in terms of the inherent quality of its products and services, the price/quality ratio, punctuality of the services and meeting the needs of all stakeholders in the construction industry;
- In order to avoid proliferation of and competition between brands, technical assessments and quality declarations in the Belgian context, which would reduce their value, become the only important supplier of quality declarations with regard to the fitness for use of materials, products or kits and systems that are not or incompletely treated in standards;
The UBAtc must support the competitiveness of the Belgian and European construction sector, strive for the prosperity of the building owners and sustainable development, by:
- Providing the approval, assessment and certification operators with the necessary means to prepare, maintain and distribute a coherent set of technical assessments and quality declarations tailored to users and construction sites
- Receiving the applicants for technical assessments and quality declarations in a correct manner, treat the information made available confidentially, offer them the most suitable UBAtc product or the most suitable UBAtc service and guide them through the assessment, approval and/or certification process
- Giving the interested parties a say in the functioning of the organization and increasing their trust in the UBAtc services by supervising the activities of the operators
- Responding flexibly and efficiently and in a technically and scientifically sound manner to the needs of the stakeholders, of the market and society and to guide the construction site-related processes of the users
